Zoran was born on May 19, 1973 in Rijeka, Croatia, and started playing tennis at the age of 10. He actively trained tennis until he was seventeen years old, when he decided to pursue a career in sports education. At the age of nineteen he started working in a tennis school, and in 1995 he obtained USPTR (United States Professional Tennis Registry) licence. He enrolled in the Open University at the Faculty of Kinesiology in Zagreb in 2001, and earned his diploma in 2007 obtaining the Senior Trainer status. In more than twenty years of experience in coaching, he has worked with players from the youngest age to the junior level, training tennis players of different nationalities. One of them is Dino Marcan, who became a junior champion at Roland Garros in pairs, in 2009 – today an ATP player. Since the summer of 2014, he has been working as a coach at Lošinj Tennis Resorts.
